Our Winter Sigma Meeting is almost here. We will gather this Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the beautiful Moller House in Tarrytown, and I hope you will join us at noon.
To make the afternoon even more enjoyable, sandwiches will be ordered from the Dobbs Ferry Diner. If you have not already done so, please let Karen Koziol know by Friday what you would like her to order for you. And don’t forget to bring your favorite beverage.

Due to the impending snowstorm, our Sigma winter meeting has been rescheduled from Saturday, January 25th to Sunday, February 15th. The meeting will take place at Moeller House in Tarrytown from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
We will be ordering sandwiches from the Dobbs Ferry Diner. Please feel free to bring your own beverage. If you plan to attend, RSVP to Karen Koziol by Friday February 13th)

Pasternack Nursing Student Essay Contest.Sarah Pasternack, MA, RN served as the President of the Nursing Archives Associates for more than 20 years. She received the Living Legend Award from the ANA Massachusetts in 2014. Sarah was an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Nursing and a Nursing Patient Services Directorand an Advanced Practice Nurse in Patient Safety and Quality at Boston Children’s Hospital.Essay Title: Inspired to Become a NurseWhat inspired you to pursue a career in nursing and how does your inspiration relate to a significant historical figure or event?Any references and citations must be in APA (7th edition) format.•Essays should not exceed 1000 words, exclusive of title and references.•Artificial intelligence (AI) may not be used in creating the essay.•To be considered, essays must be received by February 2, 2026.Two winning essays will be selected – one written by an undergraduate nursing student and one written by a graduate nursing student (masters, post-masters, or doctoral).Authors of the winning essays will each receive a $500 prize. They will be invited to read their essay on a zoom meeting of the Nursing Archives Associates.Send two copies of your essay to nursing@bu.edu with ‘Nursing Archives Essay Contest’ in the subject line. One copy must include your name, degree in progress, expected year of graduation, name of school, and email address. The second copy should not include any identifying information.The winners will be notified by April 15, 2026.

Call for Delegates: 2025 Biennial Convention
We are currently seeking two volunteer delegates to represent our chapter at the Sigma 47th Biennial Convention, taking place November 8–12, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
As a delegate, you will have the opportunity to:
Participate in official House of Delegates proceedings
Vote on important Sigma matters
Network with global nursing leaders
Represent our chapter and help shape the future of Sigma
Chapter funding is available to help offset travel and registration expenses.
Previous delegates have found this experience to be both professionally enriching and personally rewarding.
